So what can I say about me? Well I'm 19 years old, I like reading and writing mainly writing. I live in the United States but I was born in the Dominican Republic then moved here when I was 12. I'm a 7th day Adventist (which means I go to church). I also like hanging out with friends and having a good time.

The way He does

Do you love the way he does.

Do you miss Him, the way He misses you.

Do you speak to Him, the way He speaks to you.

Do you praise Him the way He wants you to praise Him.

Do you speak about Him, the way He speaks about you.

Would you defend Him, the way He defends you.

Do you do things for Him, the way He does things for you.

Would you give everything up, the way He gave everything for you.

Would you sacrifice your life, the way He sacrifice His for you.

Do you forgive others, the way He forgives you.

Do you accept Him, the way He accepts you.

Are you kind, the way He’s kind to you.

Would you stand up for Him, the way He does for you.

Do you know Him, the way He Knows you.

You say you love Him, that you worship Him; but are you willing to do it the way He deserves to be worshiped? Walking with Jesus is like being in a relationship, everything listed above is what you would want your significant other to do for you. Now do you have a relationship with Jesus that you do all of the above? If not than it’s best you start doing it. Jesus does more for us than we deserve and yet we are not grateful. He’s constantly doing things for us so we notice him, but we just keep pushing him away. If we want to do all for Christ than we should start by allowing him to come into our hearts and letting him take control of our sorrows, pain, etc. Jeremiah 29:11″For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord , plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. If we allow him to do so he’ll do greater things than we have thought of doing on our own. the joy of praising and worshiping Jesus is better than any materialistic thing on this earth.

He’s hurting.

He’s hurting when I wake up in the morning and don’t thank Him for it.

He’s hurting when I rush out the door and say a prayer less than a minute long “thank you Jesus, protect me. Amen.”- What!! that’s it? That’s all I have to say?

He’s hurting when I don’t think about him enough.

He’s hurting when I’m not kind to a stranger.

He’s hurting when I criticize and judge instead of landing a helping hand.

He’s hurting when I have negative thoughts, instead of positive ones.

He’s hurting when I come home, exhausted from work or school and I don’t tell him how my day went. He’s more than willing to listen to me.

He’s hurting when I don’t spend time with Him.

He’s hurting when I don’t introduce Him to others.

He’s hurting when I don’t share Him with others and speak about Him.

He’s hurting when night falls and I don’t speak to Him before going to bed.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done as in heaven, so on earth.

Give us day by day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

LUKE 11:1-4 KJV

One day I was reading this prayer and I came across something very interesting; although I can’t  remember were I read it.

I read that this prayer is not like any other prayer you do before going to bed. This one is special; the article said that the Lord’s prayer was and still is unique. Jesus was praying in a certain place, when he stopped, one of his disciples approached Him and said to him ” Teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples“.

This prayer is a cry to the Lord; “our Father which art in heaven..” this isn’t something that you blurred out like is nothing. This prayer should touch your heart, I think is the perfect prayer. The Lord’s prayer is like a pact you make every time you pray “thy will be done“; sometime we forget that God is in control. Our minds are fulled with disappointment, and lies day by day. We loose sight of He who gave us life, we make Him seem like He’s not big enough to break that which binds us into suffering. Well I tell you my friend He is greater than any problem you can think of. Just because He’s silent doesn’t mean He’s not there for you; He’s just working on something special for you only. You just have to be patient and have faith “..for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible for you.- Mathew 17:20

I’m sitting staring at the screen repeating the words ” our Father which art in heaven”. The payer is very powerful and intimate, although everyone knows it not one experiences it the same way.

God sent us his Son to pardon our sins; this prayer reminds me of that. Even after He died, resurrected and ascended to heaven, Jesus did not leave us alone; he left us a comforter who’s protecting us and guiding us, “and leading us not into temptation”. So when you’re felling blue remember this prayer let it touch your soul, cry out and He’ll  hear you!

” for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”. LUKE 11:10 KJV

I wonder

Being a youth director has been The hardest challenges I’ve ever faced. I mean the way I see things I shouldn’t even have a title like that, I feel like I’m failing miserably as a leader and I probably am. I don’t know how to do this! I’m here laying in bed thinking if I can’t  motivate or help those who are closer to me then how can I help those who are not?
My mind is going round and round trying to figure out what am I supposed to be doing.
I wonder if anything I’m doing or trying to do as a leader is reaching to people around me.
  I just don’t know. ……

What people want vs what people need to hear.

Being a youth director has a lot of challenges. People always have an opinion on how something should be done. They think because I’m open to suggestions it’s ok to assume that they are the ones in charge.  The funny thing about this is that even though I’m a youth director at my church; The one that really has control is Jesus.  He’s the only one that can change my ideas and programs, he’s the one that tells me “listen to what people need not what they want”. Jesus is my number one counselor, then the rest.
Have you ever had a plan, I mean like a really good skit, sermon or video to teach the youth something;  But all of a sudden you teach something completely different?  That has happened to me many times. That’s ok because Jesus is in control he has good intentions when he decides to change things up a little. The bible says:
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.- Jeremiah 29:11-13.
Jesus will never do something to harm you.  He does it for your benefit and others as well.  If you ever feel like your plans have changed, don’t be discouraged or afraid. Embrace it with open arms and remember to so all things for the glory and honor of Jesus Christ.

Accepting a position

Today I woke up and had a strange feeling. My mom left earlier to church, while I was getting I had the feeling that something was going to happen but I didn’t know whether it was good or bad. So as I walk to church I keep wondering why am I feeling strange, I’m usually very exited to go to church and praise God. So the day went on, I heard the sermon which was pretty good, spoke to a few friends but the feeling was still there. When I went home to eat and came back, then one of the members from church pulled me aside and told me I was being chosen to be the youth director. So then it hit me, that was the strange feeling I had all day. I personally was hoping to be encharched of something but never in a million years would the thought of being a youth director cross my mind. So she gave me like an hour to think about it, an hour! So I was kind of freaking out at the moment, one of my friends approached me and ask what was wrong, so I told her, to my surprise she knew already, she said ” I knew it was going to be you”! I was like what, you knew?! She said she’d been praying the whole week for it to be me. Like I said before, I never thought of something like that happening to me, so she said “the Lord wants you to be the youth director next year, many people have prayed and spoken about it, and they’re all thought of you”. So I told her I wasn’t even qualified for something like that. She said that if God spoke to these people through prayer to be me, than it was ment to be. After listening to my friend telling me that this was God’s plan for me, then I should listen to Him. So after thinking about for a while I accepted, I’m not sure what God has planned for me but I know He’d never give me something I couldn’t handle. If God is calling you to do something for Him, do it don’t think you’re not qualified, because let’s be honest no-one is ever qualified to do His works. You may not think you’re good enough like I do but if I put all my faith and trust in Him you should too, He’ll never let you down and He will always help you through your journey like He’s going to help me.

Friday Nights.

So I’m home right now, listening to a Seventh Day Adventist radio station in Español. I shouldn’t be though, I should be at church listening to the word of God. Do you ever feel like not going to church (if you do go)? Like your week has been so bad that you just wanna hide from people? Well that’s what I did today. The reason why, is because I’ve had a bad week and knowing my church buddies they’ll ask questions I want to avoid.  So I’d rather listen to Radio Amanecer (that’s the radio station’s name) at home were I have control over my thoughts. This is my second post, i don’t know how this works but ummm,  I like to write and express myself so I’ll be posting once in a while  (mostly spiritual stuff). Have a goodnight and God bless.

Dramatic Event

How does a dramatic event change the way we view things and change our attitude towards different things? Sometime when we go through a dramatic situation our emotions can get the best us, even for a long period of time. Then there comes the confusion, the blaming everyone and everything around us. Why is that, maybe is because we try to understand why did it happen, why me and not someone else? Can we ever let go of the past to really move forward or we hold on to it because we think it’ll help us. Sometimes  I think that we’re afraid of how we would see the world if we had to let go of the past. Letting go is the best way to move on but it doesn’t meant that you can forget what happened, it means to be able to move on without the situation affecting your future. Don’t ever let something get on the way of fulfilling your dreams. Be brave and embrace life, live it and love it. Appreciate your family and friends, hold on to what you have now and not what you lost then.
